On May 21, 2024, our long-awaited Grand European Tour officially began—a journey set to take us through some of the most iconic cities in Europe, rich in history, culture, and breathtaking beauty. As we gathered to depart from India, the air buzzed with anticipation, capturing the true spirit of wanderlust.

To ensure smooth travel, we divided into two groups: one led by Mr. Ghosh, flying via Etihad Airways with 30 members, and another 25 members boarding Emirates Airlines. Later, five more travelers joined us in Paris on May 25, making our vibrant group of 60 complete.

Though we took different flights, our excitement and shared goal kept us united—we were ready to explore Europe together and make lifelong memories.

Travel, we soon realized, is far more than physical movement; it is a soulful experience. As Saint Augustine wisely said, “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page.” For us, this tour was about to become the most inspiring chapter of all.

After a long yet exciting flight, we finally arrived in London at 8:15 PM, greeted by the shimmering city lights that signaled the start of our grand European journey. The vibrant evening ambiance of the city felt like a cinematic welcome, setting the tone for the adventure ahead.

Our stay was arranged at the Hotel Atrium, conveniently located near Heathrow Airport. This modern hotel offered a warm reception, comfortable rooms, and much-needed rest after our travels. Next, we made our way to the Houses of Parliament and the iconic Big Ben, the beating heart of political power in the United Kingdom. Towering against the cloudy London sky, these Gothic masterpieces stirred a quiet awe among us. Standing before them, one couldn’t help but reflect on the philosophical foundations of democracy and governance—values that have rippled across the modern world from this very seat of power.

From there, we proceeded to the hallowed halls of Westminster Abbey, a spiritual and cultural landmark. The serenity inside this sacred space was deeply moving. With its stunning stained glass, royal tombs, and architectural grace, Westminster Abbey felt less like a building and more like a living chronicle of British history. While we missed witnessing the Changing of the Guard due to sudden rain and a tight schedule, the palace’s grandeur remained undiminished. Known for its budget-friendly yet stylish apparel, Primark on Oxford Street is a must-visit. It’s easy to see why it’s a favourite for both locals and tourists. With bags in hand and smiles on our faces, we wrapped up the shopping spree with a sense of satisfaction only a good London haul can bring.

🚄 All Aboard the Eurostar – From London to Paris

By 11:30 AM, it was time to bid adieu to the UK and embark on our next adventure: Paris! BonVoyage® Travel Club had expertly arranged our Eurostar journey from London St. Pancras International to Paris Gare du Nord, ensuring a seamless and stress-free experience.

Our fourth day began with a sense of excitement as we prepared to explore the timeless charm and historic grandeur of Paris. The city, known for its romantic ambiance and iconic landmarks, promised a day full of unforgettable experiences.

We started our city tour by venturing down the famed Avenue des Champs-Élysées. This bustling boulevard, lined with luxury shops, cafés, and theatres, is often regarded as the most beautiful avenue in the world. Strolling along this vibrant street, we soaked up the Parisian atmosphere—a delightful blend of elegance and energy.

This enchanting destination, where fantasy meets cutting-edge technology, promised a day filled with thrilling rides and immersive experiences. We faced the difficult task of choosing just one for our day of adventure. One of the unexpected highlights was witnessing a real movie shoot featuring famous Hollywood artists. The set was alive with activity.
